Frozen Mango Chocolate Yogurt Popsicles for Summer

20

These Mango Chocolate Yogurt Popsicles are a sweet, tangy, and refreshing frozen mango treat made with fresh mango slices, melted chocolate, and yogurt. Instead of blending the mango into a traditional popsicle mixture, this easy summer dessert uses whole mango slices on popsicle sticks, then coats them with yogurt, chocolate, or both. The result is a simple homemade frozen dessert with the natural sweetness of mango, the creamy tanginess of yogurt, and the rich flavor of chocolate.

This recipe is perfect for hot summer days because it is easy to prepare, customizable, and great for making ahead. You can make yogurt-coated mango popsicles, chocolate-coated mango popsicles, or layer both coatings for a richer flavor. The mango slices need to be frozen before coating, and each coating layer should be frozen again until set. You can make several at once and keep them in the freezer for 3 to 5 days, making this a fun and refreshing no-bake dessert for summer.

Equipment

  • Popsicle sticks prepare according to the number of popsicles you are making
  • Parchment paper
  • Freezer-safe container

Ingredients

  • 2 mangoes makes about 4 popsicles
  • 80 g chocolate chips enough to coat about 4 popsicles, adjust as needed
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil optional
  • Yogurt as needed

Instructions

  • First, prepare the mango slices. Peel the mango, then cut along the two flatter sides to get two large mango pieces. Insert a popsicle stick into each mango slice.
    Slice and Skewer the Mangoes
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place the prepared mango popsicles on the tray and freeze for at least 1 hour.
    Initial Flash Freeze
  • About 10 minutes before taking the frozen mango popsicles out of the freezer, prepare the chocolate coating. Add 80g chocolate chips to a heatproof bowl, then add 2 tsp vegetable oil. Melt the chocolate and oil using a double boiler, and stir until smooth. Set aside for later.
    Melt the Glossy Chocolate Shell
  • Next, prepare the yogurt coating. Add 40g yogurt to a bowl. You can adjust the amount depending on how many mango popsicles you are making and how much coating you like. Stir the yogurt until smooth, then set aside.
    Smooth the Yogurt Coating
  • Take the frozen mango popsicles out of the freezer. Gently spread a thin layer of yogurt on both sides of each mango slice. You can also coat the mango popsicles with melted chocolate. For a richer flavor, you can use both yogurt and chocolate. After coating, place the mango popsicles back on the tray and freeze for at least 1 hour.
Apply the Yogurt or Chocolate Coating
  • After 1 hour, you can add a second coating if desired. For example, coat the yogurt-covered mango popsicles with melted chocolate, then freeze again for another hour.
    The Double-Layer Chilling Rule
  • Once fully frozen, your Mango Chocolate Yogurt Popsicles are ready. Enjoy these sweet, tangy, and refreshing frozen mango treats on a hot summer day.
    Serve and Enjoy

Cooking & Storage Tips

  • You can adjust the flavors to suit your preferences. Use only yogurt, only chocolate, or both yogurt and chocolate for a richer flavor.
  • Unsweetened yogurt and dark or unsweetened chocolate work well in this recipe because the mango already has natural sweetness.
  • Make sure to line the tray with parchment paper. It helps prevent the yogurt or chocolate coating from sticking after freezing.
  • The vegetable oil in the chocolate coating is optional. Adding a little oil makes the melted chocolate smoother, shinier, and easier to coat.
  • Freeze the mango slices before coating. This helps the yogurt and chocolate set more easily on the surface.
  • Keep the coating layer thin, especially when using yogurt. A thin layer freezes faster and gives a cleaner texture.
  • If you want to add a second coating, make sure the first layer is fully frozen before adding the next one.
  • You can make several mango popsicles at once and store them in the freezer for 3 to 5 days. Keep them in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag to prevent freezer smell.
